Canva is a design platform used by hundreds of millions of people, covering social graphics, presentations, documents, video editing and brand management. Canva's charts are design elements — you type numbers into a small panel and get a shape. There is no data model underneath, no maps, no live embed, and no animation driven by the values themselves. Canva is a better design tool than PlotSet will ever be, and for most visual work it is the right answer. Its chart feature, though, is deliberately shallow — it exists so you can put a chart in a poster, not so you can visualise a dataset. Canva's own answer to serious data visualization was to acquire Flourish and bundle it into Business. If your charts are the substance rather than the decoration, a dedicated tool does the job, and PlotSet adds video and AI on top.
